The BUKC Drivers Champ is back bigger and better for 2026!

For the first time in BUKC history, the insanely mad BUKC Drivers Championships is going to be spread over 3 heats and a final. Yes you heard that right, 3 heats instead of 2. We've done the numbers, worked out the timings, and have come up with a format that is:

✅ More races! 3 x 7 minute heats (instead of 2 x 10 min heats)

✅ 3 laps practice prior to first heat

✅ 16 kart grids for the heats (instead of 32!)

✅ 10 minute final + 10 minute Super Final (for top 10 in each weight category)

✅ 80 drivers per weight category (LW at 75kg and HW at 82kg)

✅ Grads sub class in each weight category

✅ Streamed live on Alpha Live all day long

Let's be honest, 32 drivers racing in 2 x 10 minute heats was a bit nuts!

The BUKC Drivers Championship 2026 will be a full day event on Wednesday 22nd April at the amazing Silverstone kart circuit. Open to all current and graduate BUKC students (there will be a graduates sub class in each of the two weight categories).

Who is going to prove themselves best in the BUKC? Who will make it to the Super Final? Will it be a lightweight / heavyweight that takes the glory and the BUKC crown?!

The format

3 x 7 minute heats and a 10 minute final (3 laps practice prior to first heat)

2 weight classes: Lightweights at 75kg, Heavyweights at 82kg

10 minute Super Final for top 10 in the LW and HW classes (subject to enough time available on the day)

Costs:

£165 for all drivers

Eligibility / Who can race?

The BUKC Drivers Championship is not for the faint hearted!

Eligibility criteria: Only those who have raced in the Mains championship or who have achieved a top 5 result in the Intermediate class will be allowed to compete. Anyone not automatically allowed into the registration page should get in touch with their captains.

Refunds

If you can no longer take part in the event, you will need to let us know ASAP. You will only be issued a refund if a replacement drivers can be found.
